Baseball Training Aids: A Tee Is No Toy

Baseball Training Aids: A Tee Is No Toy

A batting tee will most likely be the first baseball training aid a player ever uses, however it is certainly not a child's toy, nor one that a player will "grow out of" or a tool that will be retired when hitter's skills reach a certain level of development.

Hitting drills utilizing the tee will be incorporated into a players practice and training regimen for as long as they play the game, and there is no getting around the importance of working off the tee. It improves hand-eye coordination, develops a quick bat, allows coaches to correct hitting fundamentals, teaches the hitter how to learn to use the whole field, and can help the player work on a repeatable, fluid, and powerful swing.

A Soft Toss Machine Is An Effective & Efficient Practice Aid

A Soft Toss Machine Is An Effective & Efficient Practice Aid

On the practice field or into a net in the back yard, soft toss is considered one of the best baseball coaching drills, and incorporating them into a player's practice is vital. A soft toss machine is an efficient tool that allows a player to focus on hitting mechanics while building a fluid and consistent swing. At the same time soft toss drills are effective in improving hand-eye coordination, timing, balance, adjusting to ball height,...or any area of the swing that might need improvement. Different fundamentals and areas of concern are worked on through repetition, and can be isolated utilizing any combination of drills.

How much should I invest in a pitching machine?

How much should I invest in a pitching machine?

A pitching machine can be a sizable investment, and there are so many options to choose from, it is easy to overspend on a machine that will give you more than what you will use. On the other hand, you need to make sure you are not underspending, or as your player's skill advances, they may begin to outpace the pitching machine's capabilities. To add to the confusion, these machines come in all over the price spectrum. Pitching machines can range from $300 to $10,000...so it is important to understand what exactly you need, how your player will use it...and what is just overkill.
